For this Eden Prairie project, I rebuilt an outdoor staircase using premium IPE (Brazilian Walnut) paired with durable PVC boards, creating a long-lasting structure with a clean, modern finish. The original aluminum railings were still in excellent condition, so instead of replacing them, I carefully preserved and reinstalled them into the new staircase. This kept the project cost-efficient while adding a sleek contrast to the rich IPE wood.
The new framework was constructed for proper strength and stability, ensuring the staircase meets modern standards and can withstand Minnesota’s climate. After installation, the IPE wood was finished with IPE oil, which brought out the deep, bright, natural color and enhanced the grain patterns beautifully.
This project demonstrates how a high-quality staircase rebuild can transform a home’s exterior while maintaining durability and safety
